My buddy Mike Jasper's story "Comfort and Joy" is in the News and Observer's Sunday Journal today. So go read it.

"Solipsist's Lament" came back from The Magazine of Speculative Poetry yesterday, so I'm sending it out to Mythic Delirium on Monday. Gotta keep that submission count at a baker's dozen!

And tonight is the second Cup-a-Prose meeting (though the first that all of of us will be in the same place). My Steve Miller-inspired story "Great Big Hassle" is up on the block, and I'll be interested to see what people say. I just realized, it's the second sort-of crime story I've written (the first being "One Big Crunch", which was critiqued at the last meeting), and is totally unlike most of the stuff I write. Interesting I would've chosen those two, though all my other stories are out to publishers right now.

Now Reading:
"Back to the Old Neighborhood" by Mike Jasper;
"Transubstantiation Girl" by Alex Wilson;
Polyphony 1 edited by Jay Lake

Stories Out to Publishers:
13
