I hate winter. I hate snow. I DO NOT like the cold. To bad I don't have a choice. My furnace is dead. Fortunately, I thought ahead and installed that wood stove 2 years ago. It does the job. And I cut down that big cherry tree last spring. (It only produced cooking cherries and the birds usually wiped them out within a week.) So I have free heat this winter. It's a little more work but it's worth it. The smell from the cherry is awesome. I saved all the sawdust when I cut up the tree and use it in the grill during barbeques. Maybe one day when I hit the lottery I will replace the furnace. But it is gas and they keep raising the prices. And I don't relish giving them all my money. So maybe I'll install those solar shingles and generate my own electricity. Then I can get off the grid completely.
