I received notice the other day that my high school band director is retiring. I'm going to be heading down to Houston later this month to help him celebrate his retirement. It's also going to be a cool opportunity for me to see a lot of my friends that I haven't seen in...oh...9 years. GOD, HAS IT BEEN THAT FRIGGIN LONG????

It's hard to believe that Mr. Geiger is retiring. He's been such a staple of Texas high school bands and of Wesfield for so long, that it's hard to imagine what it's going to be like without him. I bet he's going to have a good retirement though.

He's meant a lot to me. I can honestly say that I don't think I'd be the person I am today without 4 years of Westfield band under my belt. I'm going to take a few moments in the coming weeks to try and put this into words better.
