Pot looks funny when you type it.

I'm sorry to get all political on my site, but the Supreme Court ruled today that people cannot smoke pot for medicinal purposes. I'm sorry, but that is just insane.

For one, I don't know why pot is illegal, medicinal or no medicinal. But beyond my personal feelings on the drug, to say that the terminally ill can't partake of this drug is not only insane, it's flat out wrong.

The positive effects of marijuana are well documented. There are countless stories of people who had these horrible illnesses, who were not able to eat because of a loss of appetite, who were suddenly able to regain their appetite through the use of medicinal marijuana. And to think that these terminally ill people can now be prosecuted by our government for seeking to better their lives is just disgusting.

I guess the common complaint is that there are many other pharmaceutical drugs that can do the trick. But the point is that would you rather fork over hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars to some pharmaceutical company, or would you rather spend the relatively small amount that medicinal marijuana costs? Imagine if people could grow their own in their yards, they wouldn't have to pay ANY money to the pharmaceutical companies.

Ugh! The drug war is yet another war that we happen to be on the losing side of.
