Although this is a day late, I wanted to wish my mom a happy birthday. She turns 42 this year, though she doesn't look a day over 38. :-) If there's one thing I inherited from mom, it's the ability to look younger than our actual age.

Some people say they have the best mom, but I actually DO have the best mom. There's no distance she wouldn't travel for her kids. She's always there to help me out in any way that she can. She's really funny about making sure to mention all of her kids equally in the same sentence. One of us can't get praise without the other three getting praise right behind us.

One of my all-time favorite memories of mom is that she once drove about 4 hours JUST to see my marching band contest in San Antonio. It may seem small, but it really meant a lot to me at the time. It still means a lot to me.

But as good of a mom as she is, she's an even better grandmother. I can see that by the way she interacts with her grandchildren. Kids need good grandparents. My nieces and nephews have one of the best.
