Mmmm. Beer.

You will be relieved to read that I did get to drink my Pub Draught of Guinness tonight. Thank ya! I burned a sick day with the Day Job to get over my weird bug (I slept with two t-shirts on, plus socks and pajama pants). I think I needed to just take a day off. As a wonderful added bonus, I got to spend the day with Lizzie and Drew (Elizabeth is off Tuesdays and Thursdays).

So I drank my Guinness and made some final fixes to my Drinker story. I got some great, great feedback from first readers Reenie, Andrew, Kathy, Mahesh, and Maggie, so I'm sending out a huge thanks to all of you! I'm letting the story rest a few days before I send it out in a week or so. I know I need to run through it one more time, carefully, to make sure all the new bits fit the old bits.

Along with resting and recovering and hanging out with my two favorite people, I also got a ton of reading done on The Sparrow, by Mary Doria Russell, which I'm truly loving. Great characters, logical science, and above all, some wonderful discussions about faith and religion, a topic I find endlessly fascinating. A topic I try to examine in The All Nations Team as well as The Wannoshay Cycle.

But more than all that, The Sparrow is just good story-telling. I want to dive back into that fictional world to find out what happens next. Later!
