Hello, old friends.

Just spent the past hour or so getting reacquainted with Gil, a fortysomething fella who owns an organic store outside Chapel Hill, and his son Noah, a five-year-old who's way too smart for his age who has a penchant to go roaming.

Luckily I didn't see too much of Gil's wife, who can be a bit of a pain; she's so damn serious all the time. Also ran into some of the yuppy women who live up the road from him (they were in his store, looking for fresh fruit after their morning workout). Got a glimpse of Gil's crusty old neighbor Ray, too.

There was some excitement as Gil thought Noah had wandered off and gotten lost.

Oh, and by the way, none of these people exist.

I'm finally, finally working on my novel Sixteen Miles from Everywhere again. And man, does it feel good!

Later!
