I just met with Maf'j in her leaky studio in Hackney. She is a collaborative games artist, who has kindly agreed to act as my representative for the launch of the project at Limehouse Studios, London, Uk on Saturday 29th.

We played the game with her flatmate Alan on a conventional chess board and started to understand beginners' strategies for both the pawns and the ruling pieces. With characteristic enthusiasm and generosity, she also came up with some very helpful ideas for the communication and promotion of the project:-

Badges for winning pawns might read 'Pawn Star'
or 'Defender of the Piece'

She also suggested that I enrol the support of a respected and recognised chess player to enlist the interest of serious chess players and to get an analysis of the new game underway.

It also became clear that the physical tossing of a coin is rather arduous, so I need to look into another chance creating device.
