I did a very "Californian" type thing today...I met a friend for sushi and then strolled across the way to Starbucks for a latte.

Erin, a friend from a previous job, and I see each other once a month... over sushi. Our lives are completely different but we have 2 things in common. One, a love of sushi. Two, that employer (who shall remain nameless ; )) And if you count the fact that neither of us can afford to go more than that, three things. Dispite (or perhaps because of) our differences, I enjoy our sushi lunches. She's single and saves all her money to travel the world. She's getting ready to spend 2 days in Doublin, Ireland because "fares were so cheap." *sighs* I live vicarously through her... but wouldn't trade lives for all the tea in China. ; )

I realized/remembered after sushi, that I still need to pick up Sam after school. It was 12:30 at that point. If I'd gone straight back to work, I'd have to turn abound and leave shortly after arriving. So, I grabbed a latte and came home for a bit. George is sitting on my lap and arms as I type this. LOL! I think she's trying to tell me something.
